Steve produced U2's first album and remains associated with them to this day, helping with their show at the new Sphere Hall in Las Vegas.
Over the years he has produced albums by the Rolling Stones, Simply Minds, Big Country, Joan Armatrading , ABBA's Frida and many other musicians.Grammy winner Steve Lillywhite was born in 1955 in the English town of Egham. In 1984 he married the acclaimed British singer-songwriter Christy Macall, by whom he had two children.
After her tragic death in 1994, Steve moved to California and has lived in Indonesia for the past ten years.His first musical memory "I'm in bed and my parents are downstairs in the living room of our home listening to music. Only the bass reaches me. That's all I hear through the wall. And when after a while my friend said, I'll be on guitar and you'll be on bass guitar, we'll find a drummer, I was sure music was my path. That's how my career as a bass player in a band started. I wasn't very studious, but I lucked out and at 17 I got a job in a recording studio before I graduated high school.
