The journalist and producer from bTV Georgi Toshev received the award for journalism in the international section of the "Person of the Year" of the "Excellence Awards 2024" and the magazine "FREETIME EXCELLENCE LIFESTYLE", created by Ferrari's heiress Antoanella Ferrari in Rome. Art historian Fatima Karanova presented Toshev with the award for the film "Chapa meets Fellini", which is part of the bTV documentary series "The Strangers", at a special ceremony at the Bulgarian Embassy. The film is also included in the programme of the Bulgarian Film Festival in Rome, which starts on 21 June in the Italian capital and will be opened by the Minister of Culture, Naiden Todorov.
The Excellence Awards 2024 are being held for the 20th time, and the international section of the Freetime Award, "Person of the Year", has its fifth edition. This is an international award for "professional excellence, ethics and career". This year, the chosen theme that unites the awards is "communication".
The Freetime "Person of the Year" Award was created by journalist and peace ambassador Antoinella Ferrari, heiress of the famous family and director of Freetime Luxury Lifestyle magazine and Freetime TV. Among the personalities who received the 2024 Person of the Year Awards in the different categories are: for "outstanding contribution" - Guglielmo Marconi, for "theatre and cinema" - Vincenzo Boccharelli, for "fashion" - Enzo Merli of Maison Egon Von Furstenberg, for "architecture" - Gino Zavanella, for "television" - TG2 Storie of Antonio Preziosi and Adriana Paniteri, for "top model" - Krizia Moretti, among others.
At the ceremony awards were also given to N. Pr. Todor Stoyanov - Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Italy, director Todor Chapkanov - for his international film productions "The Black Lotus" and "Water and Fire", actress from the National Theatre Albena Stavreva - for the one-woman show "Ignorance", for which she also won the "Asker", the Bulgarian artist with success in Italy Tania Kalimerova, Nelly Atanasova - President of the Italian-Bulgarian Cultural Association "La Fenice" and the little Daria Stoyanova, who participated in the song festival "The Golden Coin" in Bologna.
